The Alto-Shaam TR-34542 Retrofit Timer 12-Hour is used to measure elapsed time based on an internal timing mechanism that moves in time steps when the timer is activated. The control interface can be used to select and adjust the required duration, and then an electrical signal or mechanical indication can be used to indicate the end of the cycle. This timer is fitted to the front control panel of the equipment or in the control housing and is connected to operational circuits and offers scheduled timing capability when used as a normal appliance.
