The Market Forge 10-4741 Safety Valve responds to excessive internal pressure by opening a discharge passage once the calibrated setting is reached. Its 3/4-inch male connection joins one side of the pressure line, while the 3/4-inch female connection receives the adjoining fitting to complete the piping arrangement. The internal mechanism is calibrated to react at 8 PSI, establishing the release threshold for the contained medium. Installed as part of commercial steam systems, the part diverts excess pressure away from the enclosed circuit before normal pressure conditions return.
