The Hobart 292909 Vacuum Breaker prevents backflow by allowing air to enter the water line when pressure drops allowing it to stop contaminated water from flowing into the supply system. It opens during vacuum conditions and closes automatically when normal water pressure returns to maintain the intended flow path. This vacuum breaker is placed on commercial kitchen equipment water lines with a 1/2-inch NPT connection where backflow prevention is required. It is rated for operating pressures up to 125 PSI and temperatures up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
