The Amana AMAC8893502 Door Latch Spring is a spring provides tension to the door latch mechanism as it lengthens and shortens with the opening and closing of the door. It works through the storage of mechanical energy as the latch is moved out of its rest position and the energy is emitted to help put the latch back into its default position. This spring is fitted in the door latch assembly, it is fitted in such a way that the ends of the spring are hooked in anchor points on the latch and frame.
