The Amana C8893502 Door Latch Spring is a spring-loaded latch assembly that the engages with a strike to keep a door in the closed position by allowing the latch pawl to retract when pressed and re-engages with the striker as the door closes. The internal spring compresses and releases when the latch is in motion through its cycle when the mechanism is in use, and this assists the mechanism to get back to its resting position after use. This door spring latch is installed in the door frame or the door edge of compitable appliances where a secure closure is required.
