The Blodgett 18256 Oven Flame Sensor Probe operates by sensing the existence of a pilot flame by spark ionization, in which the gas in the fire passes a small electrical charge. This part passes a constant signal to the electrical module to ensure the gas flow is constant and the unburned fuel does not build up. The component is placed directly into the assembly, and it is placed exactly in the direction of the blaze to receive instant thermal input.
