The Star Mfg 2E-41100-07 Flame Sensor is a sensing component used to sense the existence of a flame in heating systems. It is fitted in gas furnaces or burners whereby it measures the ignition process and feeds back to the control module. It can also detect the presence of flames safely by the accurate detection of the flame presence and as such the system will run safely with the fuel flowing only after combustion has been verified. The sensor communicates with the control board to avoid unsafe operation, which helps to ensure the proper start and constant functioning of the heating appliance.
