The Johnson Controls G770LHC1 Ignition Control coordinates ignition timing and flame establishment to control the start-up sequence of a gas-fired system. It operates by accepting a 24V control signal, starting a pre-purge cycle to clear the combustion chamber, and then energizing the spark circuit and opening the gas valve to light the burner. This control is usually placed within the system's ignition system and is connected between the thermostat, gas valve, and ignition parts, usually inside the equipment control compartment. It maintains a watch on the flame signal by means of a sensing circuit and will close the gas valve if the flame is not sensed.
