The Groen Z079803 Ignition Control is used to sequence the ignition system in gas-fired commercial cooking equipment, such as regulating the production of sparks, pilot ignition, and flame monitoring. It is based on the concept of receiving a 24V input signal, which initiates a pre-purge cycle timed to clear the combustion chamber, and then turning on the spark circuit and opening the gas valve to produce a pilot flame. If it is found that the flame is on, it will continue to control the operation, and if the flame does not ignite during the trial period, then it will shut off the gas supply.
