The Garland GL1021902 Door Catch is installed to lock a door by hooking up with a corresponding strike or latch, so that it does not open accidentally. When the door is shut, the catch mechanism clips in, and the panel is held until a force is applied to unlock it. It is attached to the frame or edge of the door, so that it fits in the striker on the adjacent surface. The catch is designed to fit in with compatible cooking or refrigerator equipment, keeping the door closed and well seated, keeping it aligned and in control of access, and facilitating the normal operation and handling.
