The Alto-Shaam HD-2007 Door Handle W/Striker is a gripping point to open and close the oven door with the striker part of the handle to interact with the latch mechanism to hold the door in place during use. The handle provides it a leverage of controlled movement and the striker is aligned with the latch to give the door a correct position. This assembly is fixed on the outside of the oven door and this is where the hand contacts.
