The Hoshizaki 3A9800-01 Defrost Heater is an essential component for effectively varying frost on evaporators in refrigeration systems. It works through a sheath heater whereby frost is removed through radiation and convection in order to enable the heat exchanger to perform its function as required. This heater also improves the performance of thermal compression cycles that are used in refrigeration and can therefore limit the formation of ice which affects performance. Advantages of the Hoshizaki defrost heater include lower energy use because of enhanced defrosting, longer equipment life, and less maintenance.
