The Market Forge 98-1718 Steam Trap Valve 1/2" x 3/8" is an automatic valve that senses the temperature of the live vapor and cooler condensate or air. When the thermal energy varies in the system, the mechanism inside the system opens to release the built-up liquids and gases and closes up when the steam reaches the orifice. This element is mounted directly into the plumbing of compatible steam-powered equipment, usually between the primary vessel and the return line. The components keep the heat confined to the cooking chamber by keeping the drainage infrastructure closed off preventing it from flowing out.
