The Edlund P016 Knockout Pin 610/700 works by fitting through perforated product or material and pushing out cut pieces of the product or material in a clean cut out of the cutter or press assembly. When force is exerted, the pin slides through the opening to free the item in its holding position. This pin is fitted as part of the cutter mechanism and is placed behind the cutting area in such a way that it may be used to push out material after slicing or punching.
