The Star Mfg 66-1014 High Limit Switch Auto Reset 550°F measures temperature by detecting heat at the probe and breaking the electrical circuit when the preset limit is hit. If the temperature falls below the limit the internal mechanism will automatically reset and re-establish power in the heating system.
