The Star Mfg HN118016 Conveyor Toaster Speed Control changes the resistance in the drive circuit to regulate the velocity of the belt. When the adjustment is turned, it changes the electrical value that is transmitted to the drive mechanism. This causes a change in rate of travel. The 250-ohm specification describes the resistance characteristic while 120V identifies the rated voltage. The terminal connections interface with the surrounding wiring to pass the adjusted signal into the drive section. This sets the time the food is in the heated chamber until it reaches the exit space.
