The Middleby Marshall 27170-0018 Flame Sensor Probe 1-3/8" is a flame detector that detects a flame presence by detecting the electrical signal produced when a flame is set. The probe is attached to the burner or combustion chamber and it is placed in such a way that the tip of the probe is in direct contact with the flame. It is used as a safety as it transmits flame condition to the ignition system. which enables the control module to have the flow of gas only when ignition is verified.
