The Insinger D-2241 Bronze Vacuum Breaker operates by preventing the reverse flow of water through, the plumbing system using an internal air inlet mechanism that activates when pressure conditions change. When a vacuum or back-siphonage condition occurs it introduces air into ,the line to interrupt reverse water movement and maintain separation between the water supply and connected equipment. This component is installed in compatible commercial systems, and foodservice plumbing where it connects to a 1/2-inch water line and is rated for operating pressures up to 125 PSI.
