USB Set-Up for Control Board Replacement
You can use the USB setup instructions if the control boards are still functional but intermittently having problems, or if they are functional but mechanically damaged. In order to export the data for transfer to the new control board, you will want a flash drive to perform this. The previous control board must be disconnected from the ice maker unit while data transfer is ongoing.
Make sure that the flash drive you're using doesn't have any built-in software before continuing with the USB setup. For more information, see the USB Flash Drive Specifications and Formatting.
Step 1: Verify the ice maker's power source once more.
Step 2: Select the Menu option.
Step 3: Highlight "Service" by pressing the Down arrow button.
Step 4: Click the checkbox to choose the "Service" menu.
Step 5: Once more using the Down arrow, scroll down until you find and highlight "USB Setup."
Step 6: Click the Checkmark button once again to choose "USB Setup," after which "USB Stick" will be highlighted.
Step 7: To access a menu for USB exporting, press the Checkmark button a
second time.
NOTE: The choices "Export All" and "Export Setup" for exporting data are available to you. Four files—"Asset Data," "Operating Data," "Real Time Data," and "Settings"—will be sent to the flash drive when you click "Export All." If you're configuring numerous units the same way, you can choose "Export Setup," which will just export the "Settings" file onto the flash drive.
Step 8: Choose "Export All" and click the Checkmark button to confirm your choice. A display with instructions will then emerge as a result.
Step 9: Comply with the "Export All" instructions as stated below.
- Insert the USB stick into the control board's USB port.
- By clicking the Checkmark button, you can confirm.
- For the download to complete transferring, wait for the computer for 5–10 minutes.
- Export Successful / Completed—Download transmission is complete.
Step 10: At this point, the ice maker's control board can be changed and the power can be turned off.
