The Southbend 4440409 Burner Valve Replacement Kit 1/8 inch MPT x 1/8 inch MPT operates by regulating the amount of gas flowing to the burner enabling the flame to be adjusted accurately to cooking activities. It operates by an internal valve system that opens or closes with the turn of the control knob to control the flow of gas to burner. This replacement kit is installed in the range or cooktop gas system where it is normally installed between the gas supply line and burner assembly, where it provides appropriate gas flow management during operation.
