The Garland GL2519200 2-1/8" Burner Air Shutter has a screw and washer which combine gas and can regulate the amount of air in the burner tube before combustion by moving the air shutter up and down its shaft. When the gas flows through the tube and the position of the shutter varies, the mixture of fuel and air leaves the ports and it is heated to create the flame pattern. The screw and washer are fitted in and the shutter is in place on the shaft and have to fit in the openings of the burner.
