The Southbend 3-SRV9/1 Relief Valve 50 PSI functions to release excessive pressure in the system to ensure safe working conditions. It functions by a spring loaded mechanism that opens automatically when the internal pressure is higher than the set 50 PSI limit and then the gas or liquid is allowed to escape until normal levels are restored. This is a relief valve installed in the pressure control system of the equipment, usually on a tank, pipe, or manifold and is a vital safety part in the control and prevention of overpressure.
