The Vulcan Hart VH20040 24" Thermocouple 20-30 MV is a flame detector element that is utilized in commercial kitchen equipment that uses gas power. It is mounted close to the pilot flame and produces a signal when hot and the gas valve can be left open whilst operating. This thermocouple is usually applied in ranges, oven and griddles where constant monitoring of pilots is required. When the flame is put out the signal is turned off and the flow of gas is automatically turned off.
