The Sporlan Y1001-1-4SC Copper Expansion Valve controls refrigerant flow by sensing temperature changes via an external sensing bulb. The valve regulates the amount of refrigerant flowing to the evaporator to keep the desired operating conditions as the pressure in the bulb fluctuates. It is usually placed between the liquid line and the evaporator coil of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This component, with a 1/4" inlet, 3/8" outlet and a 0.5" x 3" sensing bulb assists in controlling refrigerant distribution during system operation and provides consistent cooling performance in a variety of applications.
