The Sporlan Y1001-FBS-1/4-C Copper Expansion Valve regulates the amount of refrigerant that flows into the evaporator. Bulb pressure changes cause the valve mechanism to open or close, controlling the amount of refrigerant flow depending on the system conditions. It is generally installed at the inlet of the evaporator in refrigeration and cooling units. This component, which is constructed of copper has a 0.5" x 3" sensing bulb, a 1/4" inlet, and a 3/8" outlet enabling it to control refrigerant flow and ensure proper evaporator operation during the cooling cycle.
