The Sporlan Y1001FBS1-4C Copper Expansion Valve is a part that uses a bulb attached to it to detect the evaporator outlet temperature and adjust the flow of refrigerant. The internal valve mechanism responds to the pressure changes in the bulb which assists in controlling the amount of refrigerant flowing to the evaporator. This component is typically installed in the liquid refrigerant line and the evaporator part of a cooling system. It has a 1/4" inlet, 3/8" outlet and a 0.5" x 3" sensing bulb and is utilized in refrigeration systems where controlled metering of the refrigerant is needed.
