The Keating 002567 Coaxial Thermopile operates by transforming heat of a pilot flame into an electrical signal, which allows an accurate voltage output of 250750 mV. This signal is then used to actuate gas valves, such that the heating equipment is used in a similar manner. It is easily integrated and is installed directly into the pilot assembly of the appliance, and its 36 inch length gives it the flexibility to be placed anywhere in the system. Its coaxial construction makes it easy to connect and at the same time permit it the correct voltage response in different flame conditions.

Installation Steps

Step1: Turn off gas supply and power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely.

Step2: Access the pilot assembly area and remove the old thermopile.

Step3: Position the new thermopile so the tip sits directly in the pilot flame.

Step4: Secure the mounting and route the lead wires carefully away from heat sources.

Step5: Connect wires to the gas valve terminals as originally configured.

Step6: Restore gas and power, then light the pilot.

Step7: Check stable flame sensing and proper millivolt output for safe operation.
