The Middleby Marshall A21887 Contactor 3-Pole 30/40A 120V is an electromechanical type of switching part used to open and close a power circuit by activating a control coil, moving internal contacts. As voltage is added to the coil three poles shift state all at once to direct current to connected loads. It is mounted in an electrical control panel, or equipment enclosure, close to motors, heaters or parts of power distribution. The unit has a 30/40 amp operating rating with a 120-volt control input, which is used with circuits of higher current.
