The Hobart 344523-1 Hi-Limit LCH Thermostat W/Manual Reset 490°F Fixed 1/4" X 6-1/2" Nickel Bulb is a temperature-sensing safety part that monitors heat conditions and interrupts the control circuit when a preset limit is exceeded. It has a sensing element that is set to sense temperature change. When the temperature of the sensing element reaches the set point it opens its contacts to interrupt the control circuit and must be manually reset to restore operation. This probe measures temperature within the control path, which is part of the thermal sensing section. It will be wired into the safety circuit so that it can make or break the electrical connection based on temperature from the input parts and other control parts that will be connected to it.
