The Hobart 351438-31 Hi-Limit LCH Thermostat W/Manual Reset 490°F Fixed 1/4" X 6-1/2" Nickel Bulb is a temperature-sensing safety part that monitors heat levels and interrupts the control circuit when a preset limit is exceeded. It accomplishes this by sensing temperature change through its sensing element and opening the control circuit once the set limit is reached, after which it has to be reset manually to restore operation. The probe measures temperature in the control path, where it forms part of the thermal sensing section. Placed in the safety circuit, it interfaces with the wiring and other control parts to regulate electrical continuity based on temperature.
