The Market Forge 975078 O-Ring 7/16" ID X 3/32" width is used to seal two mating surfaces by fitting in a groove and crushing together as the components are assembled to limit the flow of fluids or gases at the joint. When pressure is exerted, the ring is pushed to shape itself to the groove and the surfaces around it to aid in keeping the seal. It is installed in the proper gland of compatible equipment the two parts are to meet and a seal is necessary. The given inner diameter and cross-section are suitable to fit the grooves and seal.
