The Hatco 02-01-018-00 Contactor 4-Pole 40A Inductive/50A Resistive is a that works by pumping up an electromagnetic coil that in turn pulls heavy duty contacts together to complete electrical circuits with heavy current loads. When the control signal is used to activate the coil, the contactor closes its four poles to permit the flow of power to heating elements or motors at 208/240 volts. This unit is fitted on the control panel of the equipment or junction area, and is placed to connect between the control circuitry and the high-current power lines.
