The Avantco 400046 Hi-Limit Thermostat Bulb 1/4" X 4-1/2" operates by sensing temperature through its 30-inch capillary tube, and opening or closing its internal contacts to control heat flow. It activates when the temperature reaches 450°F interrupting the circuit to prevent further heating then resets once the temperature drops. This thermostat is designed for installation in commercial fryers, and similar appliances where it is mounted near the heating element to monitor temperature effectively. Its compact design allows it to fit within tight spaces while the capillary tube can be routed to ensure accurate thermal sensing.
