The American Range 10485 Thermocouple 18" is a replacement component that has a production of 20-30 mV and can be used in commercial cooking equipment. It works in the sense that it detects the presence of a pilot flame and sends a small voltage signal to the gas valve so that the appliance can operate safely. This thermocouple is also used in ovens, ranges and other gas-powered appliances as a sure way of stopping the flow of gas when the pilot flame is out. It can be used for replacement or maintenance purposes to keep the appliances operational.
