The Hobart 14268 Thermocouple is a flame-sensing safety system used in commercial gas equipment to confirm it is operating on pilot flames. It is mounted close to the pilot burner and when subjected to heat, an electrical signal is generated and this enables the gas valve to remain open during normal operation. In case the pilot flame is removed, the signal and the flow of gases are discontinued. This type of thermocouple is usually used in commercial kitchen ranges and ovens. The system is used in the ignition and safety system.
