The Star Mfg DD-52801 Contactor 3-Pole 40/50A 208/240 V is a part that operates by opening and closing its three sets of contacts by using an electromagnetic coil, which allows the electricity to pass to equipment connected to it. Energizing the coil causes contacts to close and interrupting the current and de-energizing the coil causes the contacts to open. The part can be installed in electrical panels or control enclosures where it can be used to control the distribution of power to commercial or industrial appliances. It has a small size that enables it to be placed next to the other control part in a panel.
