The Star Mfg OB-30700-01 Contactor 3-Pole 40/50A 208/240 V operates on the principle of operating electromagnetic coils to open and close electrical contacts to regulate the flow of current to equipment connected to it. The coils, when energized, cause the contacts to get together to allow the flow of electricity, and when de-energized, the contacts to part so as to break the circuit. It is made to fit in control panels or enclosures of commercial kitchen equipment and other electrical systems, and is mounted to ensure that it fits with the wiring terminals and has a small footprint.
