The Frymaster FM1370 Contactor is an electrical switch that is used to regulate flow of electricity through commercial cooking equipment by opening and closing its three electrical poles. It works by getting a control signal that makes the internal contacts either connect or disconnect the circuit to enable the heating components to be turned on or off. It is a 3-pole, 40/50A part that is rated to operate on 208/240 V circuits and is commonly placed in the electrical compartment of the fryer where it controls the flow of power to allow the system to operate in its intended cycles.
